In fact, it could be the most morally reprehensible reason so long as it’s not unlawful. What I mean by that is that you are working at the pleasure of the employer. You can quit at any time. The employer can fire you at any time. The only restriction on that is if they do it for a protected reason, then it’s unlawful, such as race, religion, sex, disability.
